Energy PV 4000 FAQs: Panels, Load and What It Can Run
We get the same handful of questions about the Energy PV 4000 almost every day, usually once before someone buys and again after the panels go up. Here are straight answers, based on the actual specs and the load chart, so you know what this inverter will and will not do before you spend anything.
How many solar panels does the Energy PV 4000 need?
It runs on 2 to 6 panels. Two panels are enough for fans and lights. To get near its full 4KW and push an AC in the afternoon, you want it closer to five or six good panels. The load chart below shows the idea at a glance.

What size panels should I use?
Standard modern panels are fine. With 550W to 585W panels, four to six of them will get you into the useful range. The exact wattage matters less than the total voltage, which is the next question.
What panel voltage does it accept?
The solar input works from 70V up to 350V DC. You wire your panels in series so their combined voltage lands inside that window. If you send us your panel model and how many you have, we will give you the series and parallel layout so you do not have to guess.

What can I actually run on it?
In the daytime, with enough panels, it comfortably runs fans, lights, a refrigerator, a couple of TVs and a 1.5 ton inverter AC. The limit is 4000 watts at any one moment, so it comes down to what you run together, not one appliance at a time. There is a fuller breakdown in our guide on whether a 4KW inverter can run your whole house.
Will it run a 1.5 ton AC?
Yes, a 1.5 ton inverter AC runs on it in the daytime as long as your panels are producing enough. Use an inverter type AC, not an old non-inverter unit. The startup surge on older ACs is hard on any solar inverter.
Does it need a battery?
No. This is a direct solar inverter. It converts panel power straight into AC in real time, so there is no battery to buy or replace. The tradeoff is simple: it works while the sun is up and stops at night. We explain the full picture in how a solar inverter without a battery works.
Does it need WAPDA or the grid?
No. It runs fully on solar and does not need a WAPDA connection to work.
Is the output pure sine wave?
Yes. The output is pure sine wave, the clean kind of power your fridge, TV and AC are built for. It will not buzz your fans or run a compressor hot the way a cheap modified sine unit can.
What happens on a cloudy day or after sunset?
Output follows the sun. On a bright day you get full power. Under heavy cloud it dips for a while and then recovers. After sunset there is no output, because nothing is stored. If you need power at night, you are looking at a battery based hybrid setup instead of this one.
Can it give two separate outputs?
Yes, it is a dual output inverter rated up to 15A per channel. Just keep the total across both outputs within the 4000 watt limit.

What is the price and warranty?
Solar prices move with the dollar, so check today’s rate on the product page rather than an old number you saw somewhere. Warranty and stock are listed there too. If you want the wider cost picture first, read what a 4KW solar inverter costs in Pakistan.
Still not sure it is the right size?
Tell us your appliances and how many panels you have, and we will confirm the fit before you order. If your load is smaller, the Energy 1.5KW direct solar inverter may suit you better. If it is much larger, look at the 7KW or 10KW direct solar units.
