The UNI-T UT203+ clamps around a wire to read current, so you don’t have to break the circuit or unhook anything. It handles up to 400A on both AC and DC, and because it’s True RMS the reading stays accurate on the distorted waveforms you get off inverters and UPS units. Away from the clamp it works as a full multimeter for voltage, resistance, capacitance and frequency.
True RMS reading
Reads AC current accurately on the noisy waveforms from inverters, UPS and switching loads, where a cheap averaging meter reads low.
AC and DC current
Measures up to 400A on both AC and DC, so one tool covers mains loads and battery or solar DC lines.
NCV wire check
The non-contact voltage sensor beeps near a live wire, so you can tell if a line is hot before opening it up.
Backlit display
The 4000-count screen has a backlight for dark meter cupboards, and data hold freezes a reading you can’t see while probing.

Clamp only one conductor at a time. Clamping live and neutral together cancels out and reads near zero. Stay within the CAT II 600V and CAT III 300V rating, keep your fingers behind the guard on the leads, and it runs on two AAA batteries.
